Question: 2006 Nissan Frontier/Manual Transmission, wont go into reverse
To put the truck into reverse you need to push down on the shifter like a button. However, lately I have to put all my weight and sometimes beat on the shifter to push it down to put it in reverse and then manually pull it back up again. I have pulled the shifter assembly out and checked for broken parts, spurs on the plastic and metal and have re-greased the entire part. The truck still has trouble when I push down on the shifter. Once I get past this "safety" feature it shifts fine as do all the other gears 1st through 6th.
